StoryMap: The Culinary Heritage of the NOAA Pacific Islands Region

A StoryMap highlighting seafood recipes from staff related to culture, identity, and sentimental experiences.

In celebration of National Seafood Month, Laulima called on NOAA staff to help showcase the unique culinary heritage of the NOAA Pacific Islands region. Staff shared their favorite seafood recipes that are important to their identity or culture, passed down from family members, or learned in travels or other sentimental experiences.

This StoryMap highlights some of those recipes. Click through the StoryMap to learn how to recreate these delicious recipes, read stories related to some of them, and see where they originated.

Laulima, which means "many hands" in Hawaiian, is the NOAA Fisheries Pacific Islands Regional Office's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team.
