Keep the Sea Entanglement Free!

August 07, 2017

Entangled Marine Mammal Brochure explaining how to responsibly stow or dispose of packing bands, ropes, netting and garbage to prevent harm and death.

Prevent nooses by cutting any loops before discarding in the trash, keep plastic and other discards out of the ocean, and reduce, reuse, and recycle. Every year many seals and sea lions unnecessarily suffer or die from becoming entangled in marine debris. Materials such as packing bands, rubber bands, ropes and netting, and garbage can cause strangulation. Responsibly stowing or disposing of these materials prevents harm and death.
