Technical Memorandum for 2015 Vessel Activity in the Arctic

The marine environment in the Arctic is changing rapidly. Continued expansion of the duration and extent of seasonal ice-free waters is projected to occur over the coming decades, resulting in new opportunities for the utilization of marine resources and increased availability of technically navigable waters. This, in turn, is projected to bring increased levels of maritime activity to the region.
