This document provides a summary of the information gathered for an Endangered Species Act (ESA) status review for Atlantic sturgeon (Acipenser oxyrinchus oxyrinchus). Initial reviews of the Atlantic sturgeon status began in 1977 when the Research Management Division of NMFS sponsored the preparation of a report on the biology and status of Atlantic sturgeon to assess the status of the stock and serve as a historical database and information library (Murawski and Pacheco 1977).
