Western and Central Pacific Ocean Tuna Purse Seine Fishery Marine Mammal Authorization Program Letter
The Pacific Islands Regional Office automatically issues the MMAP Certificate to each U.S. purse seine vessel that participates in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean Tuna Purse Seine Fishery as that fishery is classified as a Category II fishery under the Marine Mammal Protection Act. A valid MMAP certificate must be on board the vessel when fishing.
