David’s passion for marine biology, shellfish husbandry, and teaching has impelled him to make great strides forward as the Milford Lab’s shellfish hatchery manager and educational outreach coordinator for the Aquaculture Systems and Ecology Branch. He enjoys designing aquatic systems and currently has a patent pending in this field. Spawning and rearing bivalve mollusks for research, and shellfish hatchery methods are his primary focus. He has studied bivalve feeding, physiology, and rearing strategies through all life stages, and is currently working on shellfish depuration analysis, and is assisting with collaborative research on ocean acidification effects on shellfish. David is also a NOAA certified working diver, and small boat operator. David is part of the Aquaculture Systems and Ecology Branch.
