Lisa Pfeiffer, Ph.D.

Background

Lisa received a B.S. in agricultural economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2003. She attended graduate school at the University of California-Davis, and received a Ph.D. from the Department of Agriculture and Resource Economics in 2009. She worked at the Alaska Fisheries Science Center for 3 years as a post-doc for the Bering Sea Integrated Ecosystem Research Project, and joined the Northwest Fisheries Science Center in December of 2012.

Current Research

Lisa's research focuses on the development of behavioral models that describe and predict the choices of fishing industry participants, with the goal of advancing the design of fisheries management tools. Current research includes the evaluation of catch share programs in the Northwest, modeling the spatial and temporal choices of multi-species fisheries, the effects of climate change on fisheries, and fishing safety.
