Kim Shelden

Kim has been with NOAA Fisheries since 1989. She is a Marine Biologist in the Cetacean Assessment and Ecology Program with the Alaska Fisheries Science Center’s Marine Mammal Laboratory. She received her B.S. in Environmental Science/Marine Studies from Rutgers University - Cook College and M.M.A. in Marine Policy/Conservation Biology from the University of Washington - School of Marine Affairs.  Her research has primarily focused on distribution, habitat use, and life history of Arctic and subarctic species such as bowhead, beluga, gray, and North Pacific right whales.
