Aimée Lang, Ph.D.
Aimée is part of the Marine Mammal Genetics Program within the SWFSC’s Marine Mammal and Turtle Division. Her work focuses on using genetic and genomic tools to better understand the behavior and population structure of marine mammals, including gray whales, blue whales, bottlenose dolphins, and ice seals. She is also involved in leading the field component of SWFSC’s shore-based gray whale surveys. She acts as a U.S. delegate to the International Whaling Commission’s Scientific Committee, where she convenes a working group that provides advice on stock structure-related issues of interest to other subcommittees and working groups of the Scientific Committee.
