Inseason Adjustments to the 2022 Pacific Halibut Recreational Fishery

Effective August 23, 2022

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) announces additional season dates and increases the daily bag limit for the Oregon Central and Southern Coast Pacific halibut recreational fisheries in Area 2A (Washington, Oregon, and California). The inseason action (87 FR 52351, August 25, 2022) is effective on August 23, 2022. You can access Pacific halibut information on the NOAA Fisheries website.

This action adds season dates such that the Oregon Central Coast subarea will be open seven days per week starting September 1, and increases the daily bag limit from one to two fish starting September 1 in the Oregon Central and Southern Coast subareas.

This action also provides notice of the closure of the California subarea on August 7, 2022, that was announced by the IPHC on August 5, 2022.
