Inseason action for non-tribal commercial salmon fisheries from the U.S./Canada border to Cape Falcon, 2023

NOAA Fisheries has taken inseason action in the 2023 non-tribal commercial salmon fisheries from the U.S./Canada border to Cape Falcon.

  • Inseason action #11: Effective June 21, 2023, at 11:59 p.m., the commercial salmon troll fishery in the area between the U.S./Canada border and Cape Falcon is closed through June 30, 2023, at 11:59 p.m.

As specified in the Federal rule (85 FR 30235, May 11, 2023), vessels must land and deliver their salmon within 24 hours of any closure of this fishery. Additional openings in June may be considered if sufficient May-June quota remains or may be rolled over into the summer fishery beginning July 1, 2023.
