IB 03-92: NMFS Opens The Fishery For Pacific Cod By Vessels Catching Pacific Cod For Processing By The Offshore Component In The Central Regulatory Area Of The Gulf Of Alaska For 48 Hours

Notice of a fishery management action.

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is reopening directed fishing for Pacific cod by vessels catching Pacific cod for processing by the offshore component in the Central Regulatory Area (Statistical Areas 620 and 630, between 147 degrees and 159 degrees W. longitudes) of the Gulf of Alaska for 48 hours, effective 12 noon, Alaska local time, October 12, 2003, through 1200 hrs, A.l.t., October 14, 2003, according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This action is necessary to fully use the total allowable catch of Pacific cod apportioned to vessels catching Pacific cod for processing by the offshore component in the Central Regulatory Area.

After the effective date of this closure on October 14, 2003, maximum retainable amounts at 50 CFR 679.20(e) and (f) apply at any time during a trip.
