Project Details: This 60-foot high dam was constructed in 1952 to power the former Ketchikan pulp mill. Today it blocks fish passage and does not generate power. There are currently no efforts to power it back up. Previous preliminary permits to re-power it were P-11854 and P-13282.

NOAA Fisheries Area of Interest: Removal of the Connell Dam, which produces no power. Removal would greatly expand fish habitat. There are significant obstacles to reaching this goal, including that many people would like to see the dam re-powered.
