Summary

NOAA Fisheries published a proposed rule to list the U.S. population of smalltooth sawfish as endangered on April 16, 2001. After considering public comments on the proposed rule, NOAA Fisheries issued a final rule to list the distinct population segment (DPS) of smalltooth sawfish in the United States as an endangered species. NOAA Fisheries has determined that the U.S. DPS is in danger of extinction throughout its range.
