Extension of Emergency Decisions of the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission
Summary
NOAA Fisheries is extending the effective date of a temporary specification that implements one short-notice decision of the Commission on the Conservation and Management of Highly Migratory Fish Stocks in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean (WCPFC). We are also revoking one temporary specification.
On June 11, 2021, NOAA Fisheries issued three temporary specifications. These specifications implemented short-notice WCPFC decisions regarding purse seine observer coverage, purse seine transshipments at sea, and transshipment observer coverage. Based on a recent WCPFC decision, NOAA Fisheries is extending the effective date of the temporary specifications on purse seine observer coverage until December 31, 2022. We are revoking the temporary specification on transshipment observer coverage.
