Summary

NOAA Fisheries establishes regulations to implement cost recovery for the Individual Fishing Quota program for fixed gear halibut and sablefish fisheries in waters in and off of Alaska. Cost recovery is necessary because section 304(d) of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act requires the Secretary of Commerce to collect fees to recover actual costs incurred for Federal management and enforcement of these IFQ fisheries. This action is intended to impose and provide for collection of such fees.
