What We Do
Using open science principles to develop and apply ecosystem and statistical models, we integrate information on biological, climate, oceanographic, and human-related activities to evaluate the effects on ecosystem structure and function.
We collaborate across the Northeast Fisheries Science Center and with a broad suite of partners to synthesize ecosystem information, which informs living-marine resource management and enhances ecosystem-based fisheries management in the Northeast United States.

Scott Large, Ph.D.
Before moving to NOAA, Scott was a Professional Officer at the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea in Copenhagen. There he worked as a project manager for the Advisory Department and sought to make consistent, transparent, and automated products to support ecosystem advice and advice for fishing opportunities. Scott is broadly interested in understanding the dynamics between human activities and ecosystem structure and function.
