EK80 Adaptive Logger

EK80 Adaptive Logger

ABOUT

The EK80 Adaptive Logger (EAL) is an external application that interfaces with EK80 software to optimize sampling parameters while optionally avoiding aliased seabed echoes (i.e., false bottoms). This is performed by modulating the echogram display ranges and transceiver recording ranges based on the seabed depth. For example, when moving from deep to shallow water, the display and logging ranges are reduced, which accordingly allows for a faster ping rate. Moreover, if desired, the ping rate can be further adjusted to avoid receiving false bottom echoes.
