As part of a dolphinfish management strategy evaluation, NOAA Fisheries conducted stakeholder workshops to develop conceptual management objectives, identify relevant uncertainties, and collect input on the type of management procedures to explore.
Section 4(c)(2) of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) requires, at least once every five years, a review of all threatened and endangered species to determine if they should be removed from the list of threatened or endangered species or changed in their listing status. The five-year review is also used to help track the recovery of a species.
Five-year reviews describe whether recovery is on track in the context of the recovery plan, explain what the most significant accomplishments have been over the previous five years, and identify the greatest immediate challenges for species recovery.
