Public Fishing Access Site Register
The Marine Recreational Information Program maintains an online database of saltwater fishing access sites that serves as the sample frame for our shoreside survey of recreational anglers.
The Public Fishing Access Site Register is an online database of more than 3,800 marinas, boat ramps, beaches, and other public fishing access sites along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. Open the site register and click "Guest Login" to start searching.
The information in the site register helps the Marine Recreational Information Program (MRIP) determine where state-based field interviewers will conduct the Access Point Angler Intercept Survey, which collects catch information from recreational anglers. The register is updated regularly with input from anglers and state fisheries staff.
Use the Register
The site register includes detailed information about site characteristics, site pressure, and nearby amenities, such as cleaning stations, tackle shops, restaurants, and boat repair facilities. Site pressure describes the estimated number of anglers expected to fish at a particular site during a particular time. Pressure at a single site can vary based on the month, the time of day, and whether it's a weekday or weekend. Surveying anglers at both high- and low-activity sites gives us a more complete picture of what's happening—or not—on the water.
