Professional History

 

After college Ben became a fisheries observer with the Northeast Fisheries Observer Program where he observed several different gear types including trawl, gillnet, and scallop dredge.  After observing Ben transitioned into a role as a Data Debriefer with the Northeast Fisheries Observer Program where he edited data that fisheries observers collected at sea.  Ben also taught shark identification during observer training and he has participated in several shark tagging surveys with the Apex Predators Program.  Ben joined the Cooperative Research Branch in July of 2021 as a Field Scientist based in Narragansett, RI.
