NOAA Fisheries and partners convened an event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act, the discovery of the Rice’s whale, and recent advancements in marine mammal research and conservation.

Funding has been approved for the NOAA-sponsored South Delacroix Marsh Creation Project through the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection, and Restoration Act Program. The project will restore more than 400 acres of marsh in Plaquemines Parish.
