Meet NOAA fisheries biologist Thomas Piecuch. Thomas works as a liaison for the North Pacific Fishery Observer Program in Alaska’s remote Dutch Harbor, America’s biggest and busiest fishing port.
Water temperatures have been warmer than normal and NOAA scientists have observed some significant changes in marine species. They are in unexpected places, in larger or smaller numbers than normal, and many are thin.
