NOAA Fisheries Announces Fishing Year 2022 Audit Model Electronic Monitoring Program Video Footage Review Rate for Groundfish Sectors

This action implements possession and trip limits for the Northeast multispecies common pool fishery for the 2022 fishing year and other measures.

Today we are announcing, through a final rule, the amount of allocation each sector may carry over from the 2020 to 2021 fishing year, which ends April 30, 2022. This rule also corrects minor regulatory errors implemented by Framework Adjustment 61.

NOAA Fisheries is announcing additional approved electronic monitoring providers for fishing year 2022.

NOAA Fisheries announces that the total target at-sea monitoring coverage level for Fishing Year 2022 is 99 percent of all groundfish sector trips subject to the at-sea monitoring program.

Sector at-sea monitoring and electronic monitoring provider applications for fishing year 2022 are due October 15, 2021.

Current Gulf of Maine cod and haddock measures remain in place for fishing year 2021, as recommended by the New England Fishery Management Council. These measures will be in place for the remainder of the 2021 fishing year, which ends April 30. 2022.
