Today, NOAA’s Seafood Inspection Program announces a necessary 15% increase in fees for its contract and non-contract inspection and auditing services, effective April 1, 2022.
A review of program operating expenses and projected revenue indicates that adjustments to participant fees are necessary. Program fees are reviewed at least annually to ensure they are adequate to recover the costs of each service rendered as nearly as possible.
NOAA expects to announce additional changes to fees within the next year to recover the cost of the Seafood Inspection Program as nearly as possible.
