As a Faculty Research Assistant for the Horn Point Oyster Hatchery in Cambridge, MD, I learned about all parts of a shellfish hatchery from spawning to setting oysters. The main component of my work was algal culture, and I was the head algologist for four years before joining NOAA’s Milford Laboratory as an Algologist and Curator of the Milford Microalgal Collection in 2018.
