Daniel Wieczorek
Dan Wieczorek was a Biological Science Technician for EAD's Fisheries Ecology Branch at our Sandy Hook Lab. Dan has been at the Sandy hook lab for over seventeen years, working primarily on the development of experiments and systems to expose fisheries relevant species to an assortment of contaminants and conditions. Dan is currently involved in environmental DNA research comparing analytical methods and determining species and condition specific shedding and decay rates.
Dan was heavily involved with the Center’s aquaculture initiatives, including the development of finfish aquaculture.
Recently, Dan established a Sandy Hook technician's team — chairing a weekly meeting platform for the technicians of FEB called "Tech-Time." Tech-Time was initiated by and designed for technicians that span various disciplines to gather weekly to coordinate tasks, communicate needs and concerns to branch management, and to build a common knowledge base to better assist one another. Tech-Time has led to a more cohesive and efficient branch team that also builds important camaraderie at the Sandy Hook Lab.
