IB 21-57: NMFS Reallocates Pacific Cod from Trawl Catcher Vessels to Trawl Catcher/Processors in the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska

Notice of a fishery management action

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is reallocating the projected unused amount of Pacific cod total allowable catch (TAC) from catcher vessels (CV) using trawl gear to catcher/processors (CPs) using trawl gear in the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska (GOA), according to Robert D. Mecum, Acting Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This action is necessary to allow the 2021 total allowable catch of Pacific cod to be harvested and is issued pursuant to 50 CFR 679.20(a)(12)(ii)(B). This action does not imply any change in the status of the fisheries.
