Summary

NOAA Fisheries has published a 5-year review of staghorn coral (Acropora cervicornis), elkhorn coral (Acropora palmata), pillar coral (Dendrogyra cylindrus), rough cactus coral (Mycetophyllia ferox), lobed star coral (Orbicella annularis), mountainous star coral (Orbicella faveolata), and boulder star coral (Orbicella franksi). A 5-year review is a periodic analysis of a species’ status conducted to ensure that the listing classification of a species as threatened or endangered under the Endangered Species Act of 1973 (ESA) is accurate. This review evaluates information that has become available since the last status review conducted in 2014.
