Summary

NOAA Fisheries issues regulations to implement Amendment 4 to the Fishery Management Plan (FMP) for the Scallop Fishery off Alaska, which creates a license limitation program (LLP) for the scallop fishery. NOAA Fisheries also announces the application period for this program. The scallop LLP will limit the number of participants and reduce fishing capacity in the scallop fishery off Alaska. The scallop LLP is necessary to achieve the conservation and management goals for the scallop fishery and is intended to further the objectives of the FMP.
